The Finance Minister of India presented the 2nd paperless Union Budget on February 01, 2022. The proposals focus on making India self-reliant, in line with “Atmanirbhar Bharat” which is Indian Government’s vision. Direct Tax proposals include clarifications on various provisions, providing Covid-19 related benefits to individuals and to corporates, widening of tax base, provisions relating to Business Reorganisation, etc. Indirect Tax proposals include streamlining of various procedures in GST (especially on Input Tax Credit) and Customs and amendment to various Customs Duty rates.
